The CONNECT infrastructure project

The overarching aim of the CONNECT project is to accelerate offshore carbon sequestration deployment, currently rapidly developing in Norway on an industrial scale. Reduced carbon dioxide emissions are essential to reach the two-degree scenario in the Paris Agreement and aid progress on UN Sustainable Development Goal 7.

An important part of the CONNECT project is to increase public awareness of the importance of CCS technology, and its potential role in the Norwegian energy transition efforts. The project will strongly connect research and dissemination to advance and strengthen interdisciplinary CCS activities at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at UiB,  as well at other collaborating UiB units, national and international partners.
